Private holiday to Nepal and Bhutan
We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bhutan and Nepal. Bhutan, particularly, was an astonishing cultural experience. The only minus was the food in Bhutan, which is frankly poor. Otherwise pretty much everything met or exceeded our expectations and the organisation was impeccable.
We had an amazing trip
Bhutan is an incredible country with stunning scenery, amazing culture and the most friendly people you could hope for. The quality of the guides was excellent as was the accommodation, which in our trip, included home stays as well as hotels. The logistics and planning was all done by Mountain Kingdoms and this being very efficient made the whole process effortless. We had an amazing trip, brought back many wonderful memories (and photographs),and would highly recommend Mountain Kingdoms.
Bhutan is a remarkable country
A complete privilege to spend time in Bhutan. The people, the culture, the landscape and philosophy were truly life enhancing. We would like to pay particular tribute to our guide. His knowledge, experience, attention to detail, sensitivity and concern for our welfare was exceptional. He had so many decisions to make daily, and in our experience he got them all correct. Bhutan is a remarkable country. We feel very lucky.
A real privilege to experience
This was a wonderful trek. The guide and team were excellent. The route was well judged at a pace that suited all our small group. The cultural insights at the start and end of the holiday added an extra dimension. But the highlights were being alone in stunning scenery of the Himalaya, not meeting anyone but local yak herders for days on end. A real privilege to experience.
Mount Chomolhari, Bhutan
This was a perfect short, first family trek for us. Getting away for a week and walking with my teenage sons, with no devices and no external pressures, was wonderful. The Mountain Festival gave us a taste of Bhutanese culture, including their focus on conservation and sustainability. The day walk to Tsho Phu lakes above Jangothang was one of the most beautiful I've ever done, and had some fantastic wildlife too. Taktsang was the perfect finale, and again had good wildlife. Sherab was a great leader.
