Silk Road - Private Itinerary
The whole trip was well organised from beginning to end. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and our driver was excellent. We saw so much and were given plenty of information about all the sites we visited. We now feel that we know a lot about the country, its history and customs. The country is a fascinating mix of old and modern and the people are really lovely - very friendly and kind. We have come back with so many happy memories of another world.
Uzbekistan - a country of contrasts
A country of contrasts with stony deserts, modern cities with a wealth of Islamic architecture and history together with stunning mountain scenery. The people were friendly and welcoming and took great pride in their country. Excellent group of fellow travellers.
The Awesome Mera Peak.
A fantastic experience, organised by professionals and guided by super human Sherpas and porters. The ultimate experience. Nothing was too much trouble. It was unbelievable. Already booked my next trip with them.
Fantastic private trip to the Annapurnas
An absolutely fantastic holiday - combining trekking in the Annapurna valley with Chitwan National Park was a brilliant blend. It felt like the trip lasted forever, and we came back well exercised whilst completely relaxed. We would recommend Mountain Kingdoms without hesitation.
Toubkal trek
Great walk in a beautiful environment.
Beautiful mountains of Uzbekistan
Amazing cities and sites broken up with hiking in beautiful mountains.
Amazing private trek to Everest Base Camp
What an amazing opportunity, to see the world's highest peaks in all their glory. Mountain Kingdom organised a brilliant itinerary, with an healthy rate of ascent to acclimatise. The local Sherpa guides and porters were so knowledgeable and helpful, making the whole trip a complete joy.
Langtang Valley Private Trek
This was a very well organised trek with everything running smoothly. We had excellent guiding from Durga, good pace-setting by Lapa. Durga's timings were very well chosen so that we avoided bad weather in the afternoons. Tea house accommodation was satisfactory, food was very wholesome and people were extremely friendly throughout the trip. The Langang Valley has a huge variety of ecosystems with loads of plant, animal and bird life. Durga's knowledge of these was hugely helpful.
Private trek in Langtang Valley
Adventurous walking, attractive pine and rhododendron forests and marvellous Himalayan panoramic views. Also an interesting stay in good quality accommodation in the fascinating city of Kathmandu.
A multi-mix delight
Our multi mix trip of trekking and sight seeing to Nepal and Bhutan was a delight. The itinerary well put together with trekking and altitude gradually getting more difficult as we approached the finale of an amazing and challenging day hiking 500 metres above Tigers Nest Monastery. The scenery in Kathmandu Valley and then Bhutan was breath taking. Much to wonder about the culture of both countries. Guides and hotel accommodation first class,
Fantastic private Mustang trek
Spectacular scenery in Mustang. The region is so remote and beautiful with few other tourists/trekkers. Thank you Mountain Kingdoms for organising this fantastic trip for us.
Everything was a highlight on our private holiday in Bhutan
It's hard to pick out highlights. The whole experience was unforgettable, a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. Our guide and driver were exemplary. The landscapes were amazing. The initial treks were very challenging but prepared us well for the final descent to the Tiger's Nest Monastery. The decision to stay in 2 homestays was the right one, as we relished the opportunity to meet families, eat with them, and I spent a very happy evening chatting to 2 children, hearing about a 12 yr old's ambitions.
Great cycling in Bhutan
Great cycling, wonderful scenery, and an amazing experience. The team looking after us could not have been more helpful. They were fun and easy to be with and anticipated our needs.
Well taken care of throughout
The scenery, culture and people were amazing! Breathtaking mountain views were everywhere. Each day of trekking was well planned out, striking the right balance between new experience, acclimatization and physical challenge. The lodges were very nice with excellent service and food. At the higher altitude villages, the accommodates became more basic as expected, but we were well taken care of throughout. And we could not have asked for a better guide and assistants.
Superb organisation in Bhutan
The organisation or our private holiday was superb. Usually, we are fierce independent travellers but Bhutan does not cater to this. We were able to set our start time in the morning a little later to accommodate everyone's sleeping needs and our wonderful guide rescheduled the last few days of the trip so as to avoid a very long potential 7-8 hour drive back to Paro on windy mountainous roads. We split this return journey over 2 days and the re booking of hotels etc. was done seamlessly.
A memorable family adventure
Our first trip to Nepal and exceeded all our expectations. A memorable family adventure with stunning scenery, good company and excellent guides and porters. Thoroughly recommend the trek for the mountains, cultural experiences and a challenge.
Overall, a brilliant experience.
An excellent, well organised and varied tour. The hotels exceeded expectations with helpful staff and well equipped, comfortable bedrooms. All meals were well presented and of a high standard. Our guide was very knowledgeable and efficient and the driver competent throughout the mountain roads: 'a safe pair of hands'. Some walks were quite challenging and a degree of fitness should be recommended. Overall, a brilliant experience.
A holiday that leaves its mark
This is a great trip - it gives you a great opportunity to explore these countries through trekking, walking and sightseeing, with the excellent guides sharing some hidden gems with you, along the way. There are a couple of challenging days but the rewards for your hard work are well worth it. This is a really interesting area of the world to visit and an opportunity to see a way of life that is rare to see, and which seems to take you back in time, which leaves its mark on you.
Bhutan is like nowhere else
Travelling through Bhutan was an amazing experience, not least due to our superb guide, known to everyone as Bull. He has been a guide for 30 years and knows Bhutan, its history, customs and places intimately. As we were the only people on the trip, Bull was able to adjust and add to the itinerary to suit the weather, our interests and abilities (we are mid 70s), and local events. Bhutan is like nowhere else; unspoilt, peaceful, uncommercialised and very special. Go before it changes.
Everything was great
The holiday was very organised, everything run smoothly. The scenery was exceptionally interesting - you were in the middle of nowhere, out of civilisation and next to nature. The accommodation was very good too, especially at the Estancia Christina. The food delicious. The title is a bit misleading. Everything else was great. (Thank you for your review Ioanna and we're so pleased you had a great time. In response to feedback we will look at the grading of the trip to take account of the longer walking days - the MK Team).
