Outstanding views on Kangchenjunga Trek
The mountain views on this trek were outstanding. The days to the viewpoints were long, but well worth the effort. The route taken by the trek allowed for good acclimatisation, and an interesting variety of landscapes as you progress towards the high mountains. (Private Departure)
Patagonian beauty
The country, place and people were all charming. Patagonia was breathtakingly beautiful. The trek was amazing as were our two guides.
A fantastic, faultless trip.
A fantastic trip, exceeding my expectations. Helped by being with a great group of people (who I had never met before the trip) and two brilliant Chilean guides. Amazing scenery and great weather, with snow on the highest section of the walk (as I would have wanted!) and sunshine for most of the rest of it. The Eco-camp was great, but even the other campsites were good in their own way - each one was different. Very well organised - faultless to be honest.
A well led trek
The trek was really well led with the leader available to us from 6am to bed-time. Pace was excellent for our group. Lodge staff were also very helpful.
Annapurna Base Camp - A wonderful trip!
A wonderful trip. Although we love to travel, we would not have considered organising an experience like this for ourselves. We saw so much, learned so much and enjoyed the whole adventure from start to finish. Our guide, Nemgel Sherpa, was very knowledgeable and added so much to our enjoyment, as well as being constantly cheerful and helpful, as were all our four porters.
One of the best trips we've had
What a beautiful country Bhutan is. The scenery is stunning. The people are so friendly and welcoming. Our guide was excellent. His knowledge of the country and Buddhism was excellent. Our driver drove us well around the endless bends. We were lucky to have blue skies most of time. The accommodation was good although rather cold on occasions. The staff were always welcoming and food mostly good. Our trip was one of the best we’d had. It was a shame we only had 9 days there!
Stress free travel and homestay highlight
Travel arrangements were stress free despite having to adapt to local public holidays and election restrictions! Accommodation was excellent - the highlight being hospitality at our homestay including a hot stone bath. Cycling was strenuous but with guide and back up vehicles on hand was enjoyable and much better than just being driven from place to place. Bikes were of excellent quality. Bhutan is a lovely peaceful country.
A superb experience!
Having visited Nepal on a number of occasions before, I wanted to get off the usual trails to get a flavour of how the people lived in villages less visited by tourists and this holiday more than fitted the bill. I was also interested in learning more about Hindu and Buddhist culture and again the itinerary provided well for that. The accomodation was first class as were the knowledge and friendliness of the guides and porters. A superb experience!
Beautiful countryside with a great guide
BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE! Great guide - Tshering, was very respectful, patient and informative, plus able to be flexible at times. Driver Karchan was very safe and sensible. There could have been more time to stop and contemplate on walks, which tended to be paced by the fastest walkers, so although guide Tshering said go at your own pace, it wasn't really possible to do so as it would have meant others waiting longer than they would have liked. Fantastic temples and zhongs, well explained.
Amazing holiday
This was an amazing holiday where the photos do not do the expansive landscape justice. There is a feeling of space everywhere, even though the landscape is very varied. Travelling across the Patagonian Steppe is very different from Los Glaciares National Park with Mount Fitzroy dominating the skyline in the north of the park, the huge range of glaciers including Perito Moreno in the south, as well as being up close to enormous icebergs. The Patagonian Eco Domes and Estancia Cristina were great.
A wonderful trip
The scenery was stunning, the weather was unusually warm and sunny, the accommodation brilliant - all in all a wonderful trip. The walking was challenging at times and not as gentle as we had imagined it would be. We felt very lucky to be staying at the eco domes and waking up to an amazing view of Mount Fitzroy from our bed. The boat trip to Estancia Christina was a definite highlight as was the time we spent there. Being in that vast landscape with only a few other people was very special.
Well designed itinerary
The itinerary was really well designed with several centres throughout Nepal and a mixture of culture and walking.
Exceptional guide
Our Sherpa guide, Kami, was very companionable and loved to laugh. He was also extremely knowlegeable and experienced in so many things including flora and fauna, Nepalese history and politics, photography, mountaineering, Tibet and gave us insight, by his example, of the relevance of Buddhism to daily actions. The trip was massively enhanced by his leadership and empathy for the group members. We also had wonderful weather, were lucky with our internal flights and were always well fed.
An amazing holiday
This really is an amazing holiday. It involves quite a lot of travelling but it is so worth it. The scenery is absolutely stunning and the walks, though quite challenging, resulted in views to remember for ever. And, best of all, the people I was with made the holiday so enjoyable.
We had an amazing trip
Bhutan is an incredible country with stunning scenery, amazing culture and the most friendly people you could hope for. The quality of the guides was excellent as was the accommodation, which in our trip, included home stays as well as hotels. The logistics and planning was all done by Mountain Kingdoms and this being very efficient made the whole process effortless. We had an amazing trip, brought back many wonderful memories (and photographs),and would highly recommend Mountain Kingdoms.
Bhutan is a remarkable country
A complete privilege to spend time in Bhutan. The people, the culture, the landscape and philosophy were truly life enhancing. We would like to pay particular tribute to our guide. His knowledge, experience, attention to detail, sensitivity and concern for our welfare was exceptional. He had so many decisions to make daily, and in our experience he got them all correct. Bhutan is a remarkable country. We feel very lucky.
A tremendous holiday
We all felt we were offered (and felt we had to eat) far too much food! We much appreciated the quieter days built into the busy itinerary. All-in-all a tremendous holiday and introduction to a fascinating country. Thank you MK!
Claree Valley - Unspoilt mountain scenery
Excellent walking with beautiful, varied and unspoilt mountain scenery. October was a great time to visit with the brilliant autumn colours, and it was very quiet. Antoine Allier, our friendly and knowledgeable guide, was outstanding.
A real privilege to experience
This was a wonderful trek. The guide and team were excellent. The route was well judged at a pace that suited all our small group. The cultural insights at the start and end of the holiday added an extra dimension. But the highlights were being alone in stunning scenery of the Himalaya, not meeting anyone but local yak herders for days on end. A real privilege to experience.
Strongly recommended
Great treks taking in most of those classic Patagonian vistas. The tour was well organised, hotels exceeded expectations and the EcoCamp was magnificent. Tour guides were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would strongly recommend this trip for reasonably fit walkers.
