La Casona Yucay

The Casona Yucay is a beautifully restored historic casona in the Sacred Valley. This charming hotel was built in in 1810 by the Orihuela family and has important historic connections as Simon Bolivar stayed here in the early 1820's when he was leading the struggle for Peruvian independence. The family converted their home into a characterful and comfortable hotel, featuring a central courtyard with beautiful gardens and wonderful mountain views. Rooms are large, bright and airy with wooden floors, good facilities and Wi-Fi. Suites come complete with a seating area and a balcony. The restaurant, which overlooks the garden, serves meals traditional Andean food with fresh vegetables sourced from the the hotel's own organic garden.
