What makes Jordan so special?
A Jordan trekking holiday takes in dramatic landscapes of mountains and deserts – offering sweeping vistas by day and spectacularly starlit skies by night.
The Bedouin are well known for their welcoming hospitality and are bound to make you feel welcome on your Jordan trekking holiday. Jordan is known primarily for the Red Rose city of Petra and, whilst few visitors explore beyond its fabled rock-hewn walls, on a Petra trek you can discover more that this city offers.
Our walking holiday and Petra trek will lead you along the twisting narrow gorge to the stunning facade of the treasury and to the rock dwellings within. Outside of the ancient wonder of Petra, Jordan trekking has plenty to offer the adventurous traveller with its fascinating nature reserves, scenic desert treks and the surreal landscape of Wadi Rum.

Introduction
From the Dead Sea to the Red Sea, Jordan has abundant attractions with cultural, historic and scenic interest. The Nabatean ‘rose red’ city of Petra remains the country’s premier sight – and with good reason. Considered to be one of the wonders of the world, catching a first glimpse of the Treasury through the narrow twisting walls of the Siq, is often cited as one of the world’s great travel experiences. Our holidays to Jordan, provide ample time to explore Petra’s myriad rock-hewn temples, tombs and dwellings and also take in parts of the complex that few tourists see, including a walk between the main site and Little Petra.
Petra is easily accessed by road, but for the more adventurous, the ‘Inca Trail’ of the desert provides a superb trek to the ancient city through Jordan’s mountainous desert-scape; camping in true Bedouin style along the way. Beyond Petra, an exploration of the harsh but beautiful environment of Wadi Rum by 4x4 vehicle is also a ‘must do’ and provides a taste of Lawrence’s Arabia. For those in search of more natural delights, Dana Nature Reserve offers the chance to see a wide variety of fauna and flora in a beautiful setting. If you want to enjoy all of these historic and scenic sights in one superb trip, then look no further than our Dana Trek to Petra trekking holiday.
